VMworld 2018 – #vGolf Las Vegas

#vGolf is back! Bigger and better than last years event. This is the third year of the event having had the inaugural #vGolf at VMworld 2016.

Last year we had 34 participants and everyone who attended had a blast at the brilliant Bali Hai Golf complex. This year, Bali Hai is closed during the VMworld weekend so we are moving the event to the Royal Links Golf Club which is approximately 8 miles from the Las Vegas Strip.

This year the event will expand with more sponsors and a more structured golfing competition with prizes going out for the top 2 placed two ball teams. Yes, this year we will be competing between foursomes.

Details will be updated on this site and on the Eventbrite page once the day is finalised and sponsors confirmed. For the moment, if you are interested please reserve your spot by securing a ticket. At this stage there are 40 available…depending on popularity that could be extended.

Last year the golfing fee’s where heavily subsidised to $40 USD per person (green fees usually $130-150). Once registered, I will be reaching out to ask that an advance payment is made via PayPal so that the morning of the event is a cash free zone…always hard to count early on a Sunday morning in Vegas!

The cost will include green fees plus buggy and club hire. The clubs also come with 6 brand new Callaway Golf balls. Shoe hire is extra on the day for those that wish to wear proper footwear. My intention is to fund some cold drinks on the day depending on the final sponsorship numbers.

Registration Page

There is a password on the registration page to protect against people registering directly via the public page. The password is vGolf2018. I’m looking forward to seeing you all there bright and early on Sunday morning!

Take a look at what awaits you…don’t miss out!

Sponsorship Call:

If you, or your company can offer some sponsorship for the event, please email [email protected] to discuss arrangements. I am looking to subsidise most of the green fee’s if possible and for that we would need four to five sponsors.

Updated: VMworld 2017 – #vGolf Las Vegas

To say that #vGolf is back bigger and better than the inaugural #vGolf held last year at VMworld 2016 is an understatement! This year’s event has been very popular and has gotten a great response.

I’d like to give special mention and thank you to the sponsors of this years event:

Special mention going to Expedient and  who has organized special branded #vGolf balls for the day. We are still looking for another couple of sponsors which will mean that we will be able to accomodate more players as we reached the initial maximum capacity four weeks ago and have had a number of enquiries into getting people on a waiting list. Can I ask that those who wish to put on a wait list please fill out the form below and from there we are working to try and extend the numbers that can play on the day.

#vGolf is back! Bigger and better than the inaugural #vGolf held last year at VMworld 2016!

Last year we had 24 participants and everyone who attended had a blast at the majestic Bali Hai Golf complex which is in view of the VMworld 2017 venue, Mandalay Bay. This year the event will expand with more sponsors and a more structured golfing competition with prizes going out for the top 2 placed two ball teams.

Details will be updated on this site and on the Eventbrite page once the day is finalised. For the moment, if you are interested please reserve your spot by securing a ticket. At this stage there are 32 spots, but depending on popularity that could be extended.

Last year the golfing fee’s where heavily subsidised to $40 USD per person (green fees usually $130-150) thanks to the sponsors and I expect the same or lower depending on final sponsorship numbers this year. For now, please head to the Eventbrite page and reserve your ticket and wait for further updates as we get closer to the event.

Thanks to the sponsors for coming on board! To put it into perspective to play 9 holes at this course would usually cost $130 for 9 holes with all the trimmings…as I said this will be a true golfing experience and I am looking forward to kicking off VMworld with everyone who makes it nice and early!

VMworld 2016 – #vGolf Las Vegas

Last year at VMworld 2015 in San Francisco a couple of us headed out on the Sunday morning for a walk up start of 9 holes of Golf at the Golden Gate Golf Club. #vGolf at VMworld is something that I’ve been wanting to do since I first attended in 2012 and being able to play last year was a great way to kick off the week and take in some of the scenery outside of the business district.

This year as we know, VMworld is in Las Vegas which is renowned for it’s local Golf Courses and I’ve decided to formalize and extend #vGolf to see if we can make it a bigger event for this years VMworld. At this stage i’m collecting numbers of those interested as well as preferred days and price range. On the suggestion of @rytalws I thought I would reach out to see if any vendor wanted to sponsor part of the costs…anything would be a bonus but at the end of the day it’s about experiencing some great golf in Las Vegas with members of the VMware community.

If you are interested in playing 9 holes on the Friday or Saturday please fill out the embedded form below:

Thanks and…
