Last week the RTM of Veeam Backup & Replication v11 was released. With it also came the RTM of Veeam Service Provider Console v5. I wanted to give a quick overview of the Console v5 release and why it is important for our VCSPs to look at installing or updating from existing versions. As we transition into GA and beyond I’ll be creating some more detailed posts on the features and functionality of the Service Provider Console.

The One Console

It’s worth once again, briefly reminding our Veeam Cloud and Service Providers that The Console is an essential part of any service offering based on Veeam. The continued refinement and improvement around usage reporting and monitoring shows that we are committed to making this the go to platform for all VCSPs as the source of truth. In addition to that, for those that can consume Console via RESTful APIs, the v5 builds on the work done in previous versions.

Veeam Service Provider Console contains everything you need to stand up a Veeam-powered services business. Whether you’re looking to offer remote managed services for your customers’ on-premises environments or manage your multi-tenant Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), cloud backup or Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) offerings, Veeam Service Provider Console has you covered. Veeam Service Provider Console is offered FREE to current Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) partners. Not in the program? It’s free to join with no obligation to buy.

v5 Top Highlights

  • Production Ready Enhanced v3 APIs
  • Complete, awareness and control for Windows, Linux and MacOS Agents
  • Awareness and control of backup running in AWS and Azure via the Backup & Replication Plug-ins
  • Expanded security features and integrations with MFA support

Bringing Everything Together…

As we release more products across our platform there is a need for more awareness and control of those products as they are consumed by our customers, partners… and their tenants. This allows Service Providers to generate service revenue by creating value out of existing and new features and functionality in Service Provider Console. While the scope of what Console can manage and report on does not cover all products in the platform, with every release we add more as is the case with v5. Agents across Windows, Linux and MacOs can be productised under managed services and with the addition of visibility into workloads backed up in AWS and Azure via the Backup & Replication plugin we are starting to open up new opportunity to capture and manage workloads that would otherwise be unmanageable for Service Providers.

If you are a Veeam Cloud and Service Provider and haven’t looked at Veeam Service Provider Console yet, v5 is the perfect time to get onboard. If you are a Service Provider already using Console in some way, you will need to upgrade and is worth having a look at this post in the Veeam Forums which talks about upgrades relative to v11.

The RTM bits are contained with the v11 RTM download package.

I’m looking forward to this release getting out in the wild and again, look out for more posts around Console post GA.
